Biography
Karen Tatum is a self taught multi-media artist who interprets her world with strong colors and bold lines. Her expressionist paintings are created with acrylics and water colors, sometimes both in the same painting! She is a child of a military family, and lived much of her childhood in foreign places. This diversity of experiences gave her a broad view of the world and led her to express herself with a wide variety of subjects. When Karen cannot paint outside, she paints in her home studio that is bright and well lit and has her art surrounding her. Smiling people and animals gaze from the walls as she wrangles yet another canvas. Karen has won numerous awards at The Sanford Brush & Palette Club's Annual Art show, where she has been a member since 2003. To see her work, visit the Artists Loft located in downtown Sanford.
