Born in Lee County, N.C. 10/07/52.
He realized he had talent as early as the 1st grade always excelling
in any art endeavor attempted. In his teen years he won ribbons in the
local county fair for his plaster art pieces.
After high school graduation he attended Sandhills Community College
for one year majoring in art. a year later he was drafted into the Army
where he kept his art alive by creating cartoons.
In 1975 he enrolled at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Florida
and graduated with an advertising degree two years later. After
graduating he and his new bride, Jan, moved back to North Carolina and
secured a job at an advertising agency in Raleigh.

1978 accepted a position at Central Carolina Community college as a
media specialist. He produced teaching aids for the faculty. Also during
this ten year span he taught a variety of continuing education classes
and held seminars on slide/tape production and art.
Custom Wood Signs is a side business Bob started while
employed at the community college. For over 20 years he has designed,
built, and installed numerous roughed wood signs in addition to custom
furniture making.
In the mid 1980's Bob took a career change and an opportunity to
invest in a hardware store partnership. He managed Mann's Hardware for
10 years until the store was resold.
Bob currently works in purchasing and management at Lee Builder Mart,
by day, and creates his fish art in the evenings and on weekends.
He is a member of the Sanford Brush and
Palette Club and shows his fish at the annual show.
Other shows he has participated in are the Sanford Pottery Festival,
2003 and the Sanford Downtown Autumn Fest, 2003.
Honors: Eagle Scout.
