The Lee County Arts Council is a non-profit organization funded by the Cities of Sanford and Broadway, Lee County, the state of North Carolina and the National Endowment of the Arts.

Lee County Arts Council Founded in 1978 and serving Lee County and surrounding areas by "bringing arts to the community and the community to the arts". Many diverse groups receive funding or cultural guidance from this council including local choral groups, orchestras, artists, and theaters.

Volunteers

The Arts Council is looking for volunteers to work in the L.C.A.C. office, to help with a newsletter and other mailings, to volunteer at The Artists' Loft or to supervise arts classes.

Wish List Items:

• art supplies for working with adults, teens, and children

• bulletin boards

• wooden shelves

• step ladder and 5-foot ladder

• folding table and chairs to take to events

• easels

• plastic table cloths

• glass or wooden showcases for display of art, crafts and jewelry

• art, craft and poetry books for lending library

• matte board

• a van or station wagon to use as an Art Mobile

If you or your organization can help with any of these items or if you are willing to volunteer, please contact Craig Shore at 774-6139 or Carolyn York at 776-7525. If you are willing to work at The Artists' Loft or to work at a festival booth, please contact Mary Greer at 718-9073.
